A chance meeting in Prague brought Vojta and Irena Havel together with Moscow-based American drummer Robert Amacker for a startling improvisatory result, infusing the classical explorations of the well-known Czech musical team with a new and different rhythmic energy. This unique combination of European and Siberian sensibilities will be on display 14. 9. 2014 at Divadlo Dobeška (Prague), a rare public exposition of true cross-cultural musical adventure.

Robert Amacker

Born in Texas and raised in Hawaii, Robert Amacker has followed the disciplines of diverse drumming traditions with many teachers of world renown, including Jazz drum kit (George Marsh), Indian Tabla (Dr. Wasantha Singh), and African classical “talking” drum (Kwaku Dadi). Recognized by the Tos-deer and Dungur Societies of Tuva as an officially accepted Shaman and master of the traditional bubin or Shamanic healing drum, he has with their complete approval taken that instrument in entirely new musical directions, and at present concentrates all his energies to that exclusive end.
